"With faith in your physical actions you will feel emotions, akin to the external life of your part, which possess a logical bond with your soul." Konstantin Stanislavski

The primary focus of this workshop is an investigation into the body as the foundational source of deep imaginative impulses, strengthening and expanding an performer's expression, thus allowing a more dynamic interpretation of his craft. By working with and through the body, one discovers the joy of a centered and grounded performance under any conditions. A fully embodied expression leads to honest and organic character choices as well as rich emotional and atmospheric range.

Utilizing ensemble and individual exercises, we will focus on:
  • recognizing impulses and creating a receptive body to channel them
  • the containment of energy in our body and when this serves or hampers our expression
  • the development of greater articulation of the spine and extremities
  • the development of coordination
  • the development of contrapuntal use of our extremities and through them emotions and atmospheres
  • how breath animates the body and voice
  • the relationship of voice and text
  • the development of increased awareness and concentration
  • the power of ensemble generated creativity.

The workshop is designed for all levels of performers. It is applicable to all mediums.

All Participants must be ready to work barefoot, to roll, to dance,to sing, to play.

All Participants must have a poem or short monologue memorized.

COST: $50 / Barter is always a possibility
